Key Highlights of the visit to European External Action Service

European External Action Service (EEAS)  is the diplomatic service of the EU. It is responsible for promoting EU values and interests around the world in areas such as peace and security, democracy, human rights, trade, and development cooperation.

I was pleased to attend the session on 'The Role and Political Priorities of the EEAS' conducted by the Deputy European Correspondent. Many significant topics were the part of discussion such as the 'Strategic compass for common defense policy' of HR/VP Mr. Borrel and his functions and the integrated approach of EEAS encompassing trade, humanitarian assistance, diplomacy, security, and defense policy.

Around 144 EU delegations that work across the world continue to strengthen the fabric and the foundations of the EEAS.

In the next session, I learnt about 'Tackling Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference' by the Strategic Communication Officer. I noted that the work of disinformation management is sophisticated and includes various stakeholders in the process.

The visit at EEAS has inspired me and at the same time makes me curious to see how the work of EEAS drives EU values in the future considering the constant changing of geopolitics in the current world.
